My Story
When I was a kid, I used to sell posters at school. My dad had his own business, which meant I could print them for free, my first little money hack. But it wasn’t really about the posters. What I loved was the excitement of selling something I’d made and seeing people actually want it. That feeling stuck with me.
Years later, that same spark led me into a career in sales here in the UK, where I spent my days using HubSpot and learning what really helps teams close deals and what slows them down. From there, I moved into marketing, managing campaigns, reporting, email marketing, and paid social.
After helping a few teams get more out of HubSpot, I decided to start Smit Marketing, a consultancy built on one simple idea: do the basics brilliantly, keep things clean, and help people move faster.
I genuinely love helping businesses get organised, training teams, and knowing I’ve played a small part in something getting sold. It’s the same buzz I got from those school posters, just with slightly higher stakes now.

I started my career in marketing, then transitioned into sales for a while, and ultimately returned to marketing, so I have a deeper understanding of how both sides work.
That mix of experience means I don’t just focus on marketing that looks good on a dashboard; I care about marketing that actually supports sales and drives real results.
In recent years, I’ve specialised in paid social and demand generation — building and optimising campaigns that attract the right leads and help businesses grow. I’ve worked across startups, scale-ups, and large corporates, which has given me a strong sense of what works in different environments.
I’m HubSpot Marketing Certified and have helped clients achieve meaningful growth by combining HubSpot, paid media, and practical demand generation strategies. At Vodafone Business, I built and managed their B2B paid social strategy from the ground up, continuously refining it for performance. Before that, at Peppy Health, I developed paid campaign structures, managed HubSpot workflows, and delivered measurable results across multiple channels.

Outside of work, I’m an animal lover (we have a cat called Chloe) and happiest when I’m near the water — whether that’s swimming, at the beach, or out on a boat. I love food, BBQing, and spending time with friends. I’m also a bit of a sports nut — rugby, tennis, and lately, darts — and when it comes to any kind of game or competition, I can’t resist trying to win.
At the end of the day, I’m a marketer who understands sales — and I bring that same drive, curiosity, and competitive edge to helping businesses grow.
