*Understand the new HubSpot 2026 pricing model, including editions, seats, and credits, plus four practical RevOps actions to take before your next renewal.*

---

The [HubSpot 2026 pricing model](https://www.hubspot.com/flexible-seats-and-credits-pricing-supplement) combines your platform edition, user seats, and HubSpot Credits. The available editions are Starter, Professional, and Enterprise. Seats determine user access, while Credits support specific features and actions. For RevOps teams, this means looking beyond features alone and considering factors like database size, automation activity, and AI usage when planning your next purchase or renewal.

## The Core HubSpot Pricing Shifts Explained

### One Platform Edition Across the Account

Each participating account chooses one platform edition: Starter, Professional, or Enterprise. Under the limited-release terms, you can’t mix different editions. So, all your Hubs need to use the same edition rather than having different tiers for each one.

From a budget perspective, this means you’re making one purchasing decision for the whole account. On the operational side, choosing an edition becomes something different teams need to agree on together. If one department needs features from a higher edition, it’s worth weighing the cost of upgrading the entire account against the value those extra capabilities would bring to that team and to the business overall.

### Navigating HubSpot’s Seat Types

Understanding HubSpot’s seat structure is essential to ensuring your team has the right level of platform access without overpaying for license types you don't need.

Each account must have at least one GTM Seat. Additional seats can be GTM Seats or Ops Seats where the edition supports them but depending on your subscription tier, here is how HubSpot breaks down user seats:

- **GTM Seats:**
    - **Who it’s for:** Marketing, sales, and service professionals, as well as Super Admins.
    - **What it includes:** Full access to marketing, sales, and service tools, plus **Breeze Assistant** and **Smart CRM**. It also automatically includes Ops Seat access.
    - **Key Requirement:** Every HubSpot account **must have at least one** GTM Seat.
- **Ops Seats:**
    - **Who it’s for:** Operations and RevOps specialists supporting customer-facing teams.
    - **What it includes:** Focused functionality around automation, analytics, governance, and reporting. It's including AI agents, agent builder, workflows, data sync, custom reporting, user management, and read-only access to select GTM tools.

GTM Seats are listed for Starter, Professional, and Enterprise. Ops Seats are listed for Professional and Enterprise, but not Starter. Starter has a maximum of ten paid seats.

![gtm\_vs\_ops\_seats\_comparison](https://smitmarketing.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/gtm_vs_ops_seats_comparison.png?width=1376&height=768&name=gtm_vs_ops_seats_comparison.png)

- **View-Only Seat:**  Free read-only access for internal stakeholders who need to view account data without making changes or editing settings.
- **Partner Seat:** Free full-feature access for eligible HubSpot Solutions Partners and agency providers managing your portal.
- **Developer Seat:** Free access restricted strictly to the Developer Platform for building custom integrations and assets.

### Monthly HubSpot Credits

Paid accounts on the program receive included HubSpot Credits based on their edition.
The published monthly allowances are:

- Starter: 5,000 credits.
- Professional: 10,000 credits.
- Enterprise: 15,000 credits.

Credits reset each month during your subscription, so unused credits don’t carry over. HubSpot charges credits either per action or on a recurring basis. Recurring features use credits when you turn them on and then monthly for as long as they remain active, based on the applicable rate sheet.

### Messaging, Automation, Calling, and AI Consumption

Credits are used across a range of HubSpot features and actions

- Email: HubSpot-sent emails consume credits, excluding one-to-one emails sent from connected or hosted inboxes. The rate sheet lists volume-based rates.
- WhatsApp: Sending a templated WhatsApp message consumes credits.
- Automation: Workflow action executions consume credits according to volume tiers. Breeze workflow actions have a separate rate.
- Calling: Additional minutes beyond included calling capacity consume credits. Both inbound and outbound minutes count.
- AI agents: Listed consumption includes resolving text-based conversations, recommending lead outreach, and generating responses for records.

![credit\_metering\_channels\_breakdown](https://smitmarketing.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/credit_metering_channels_breakdown.png?width=770&height=430&name=credit_metering_channels_breakdown.png)Custom Agents and Work Agents are currently beta features, and they use something called action units. Basically, action units determine how many credits the agent uses. When you’re setting up and testing an agent, HubSpot lets you see an estimate of how many credits it’s likely to use.

Just keep in mind that some automated, bulk, or high-volume tasks can use credits much faster. There may also be additional costs on top of the credits, like telephony charges for certain agent features.

## Pay-as-You-Go and Additional Credit Capacity

### Pay-as-You-Go and Extra Credit Capacity

If you use more credits than your monthly limit, HubSpot charges you for the extra usage on a pay-as-you-go basis. These overage charges are billed monthly after the credits are used, in blocks of 10 credits, at the applicable per-credit rate.

One thing to keep in mind is that your limit resets each month. So, if you go over your limit one month, your account doesn’t permanently move to a higher tier for the rest of your contract.

You can also buy additional credit capacity packs. These increase your monthly credit allowance for the rest of your commitment period. The published packs come in increments of 1,000 credits per month. If you go over that increased allowance, the extra usage is charged at the standard pay-as-you-go rate.

### Email Sends and Workflow Actions Packs

If you’re on a Professional or Enterprise plan, you can buy Email Sends Capacity Packs. These cover emails sent by HubSpot, including marketing emails, automated notifications, and transactional messages but they exclude one-to-one emails sent through a connected inbox.

If you send more emails than your pack allows, the additional sends use HubSpot Credits based on the published rate sheet.

There are also Workflow Actions Capacity Packs for Professional and Enterprise accounts. These give you extra capacity for actions performed by workflows, such as sending emails, updating data, or applying business rules.

Once you go over the pack’s allowance, those additional actions start consuming credits.

### Agents Packs and Marketing Packs

Agents Packs are available on Starter, Professional, and Enterprise plans. They give you a monthly pool of HubSpot Credits that can be used across AI agents and other features that run on HubSpot Credits.

There are also Marketing Packs, which bundle three things together: email sends, workflow actions, and credits for one monthly price.

The available options are:

- Base Marketing Pack is listed for Starter
- Growth Marketing Pack is listed for Professional
- Scaled Marketing Pack is listed for Enterprise

The credits included with these Marketing Packs can be used across the different credit-consuming features available on your HubSpot plan.

So, in simple terms: you can buy extra capacity for specific things like emails or workflow actions, or choose a broader pack that gives you credits you can use across multiple HubSpot features.

## How This Will Affect New And Exisiting Accounts

## Accounts Entering the Flexible Pricing Program

HubSpot’s supplement applies to customers using its flexible seats-and-credits pricing model.

Under this model, your subscription is made up of a few different pieces: the HubSpot platform edition, seats, credits, and any capacity packs, add-ons, or limit increases you choose to add.

One important point, though: HubSpot does not say that every new customer worldwide automatically gets put into this pricing program. So, we shouldn’t assume that’s the case for every new signup.

### Legacy Versions and Possible Migration

If you’re on an older, legacy version of HubSpot’s seats-and-credits pricing, things can work differently. Legacy plans may have different features and limits from those in the current pricing model. If you have legacy subscription service, they may choose to move you over to the current structure.

There’s another important caveat: HubSpot says it can change features, functionality, limits, or add-ons during your subscription term. However, it says those changes won’t materially reduce the overall functionality of your subscription during the current term, subject to certain exceptions.

What HubSpot doesn’t provide here is a universal date for when legacy customers will be moved over, a guarantee that legacy pricing will remain indefinitely, or specific rules saying exactly when a customer will be migrated, for example, after adding a new Hub or upgrading seats.

So, it’s safest not to make assumptions about when or why a legacy account might be moved to the newer HubSpot 2026 pricing model unless HubSpot explicitly confirms it.

## The Four Pricing Areas RevOps Teams Should Know

1. ### Database Record Allowances

HubSpot puts limits on the number of records you can store across the different supported object types. Marketing contacts count toward this overall capacity.

If you need more room, HubSpot also offers options to purchase additional record capacity.
2. ### Workflow Consumption

Workflows can use HubSpot Credits when they run. HubSpot publishes different credit rates depending on the type and volume of workflow activity, including a separate rate for Breeze workflow actions.

You can also purchase Workflow Actions Capacity Packs, which give you a set monthly allowance. Once you go over that allowance, the additional actions start using credits.
3. ### User Seats and Calling Capacity

GTM Seats and Ops Seats come with different levels of access, so they aren't interchangeable.

Calling minutes are tied to GTM Seats and pooled across the account. The published monthly allowances are:

     - Starter: 100 minutes per GTM Seat
     - Professional: 250 minutes per GTM Seat
     - Enterprise: 500 minutes per GTM Seat

One thing to watch out for: HubSpot Calling isn't available in every country.
4. ### Agent Actions and Recurring Credit Usage

HubSpot publishes which actions performed by individual agents consume credits. It also separates action-based usage from recurring credit usage, so not everything is necessarily charged in the same way.

And, as with some of the other features, additional service charges may apply on top of the credits.

## What This Means for RevOps

At a high level, HubSpot's flexible pricing model is built around a few key pieces: platform edition, GTM and Ops Seats, monthly credits, capacity packs, and record limits.

HubSpot also acknowledges that some customers are still on legacy versions of its pricing and that those subscriptions may eventually be moved to the current products.

The important thing is to stick to what HubSpot actually says in its published terms. These terms don't promise that the new model will save money, explain an unstated reason for the pricing changes, or give specific migration triggers beyond what HubSpot has explicitly stated.

Request a CRM portal audit or speak with a [HubSpot consultant](https://smitmarketing.co.uk/blog/hubspot-consultant-uk-hubspot-consultancy-smit-marketing) to assess your records, seats, automation, and AI plans. A documented cost model will help you approach renewal with clearer priorities and fewer assumptions.

### So, will it cost more or less?

There is no simple answer yet. Smaller businesses may find the new model easier to enter, while companies with heavy automation, email, or AI usage could see costs climb as their credit consumption grows.

The only meaningful comparison will be the final monthly bill for a typical business. Until there is more data on how those costs play out, it is probably too soon to call HubSpot’s new pricing a win.
